Alleged Victims of Mom Accused of Hosting Wild Parties for Teen Beg Judge for Maximum Sentence: "This Woman Tore My Life Apart"
Shannon O'Connor is charged with 39 felonies after allegedly watching teenagers have sex at wild parties she threw at home.
Trigger Warning: This story contains disturbing descriptions of alleged sexual abuse.
Alleged victims of Shannon O'Connor, who is accused of throwing secret wild parties for her teenage son at her 4.7 million dollar California mansion and watching his drunk friends commit non-consensual sex acts, asked the court not to be lenient if she pleads guilty. Known as the "party mom," the 48-year-old faces 39 criminal counts of felony child endangerment and sexual battery, with some of the alleged victims as young as 13.
O'Connor remained silent as 15 people read their impact statements at a morning hearing last week, and if she's convicted of all 39 charges, she faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
Loss of Innocence
Alleged victims and parents spoke emotionally about how O'Connor ruined their innocence and life. "This woman tore my life apart," one victim, identified as Jane Doe 8, said in her impact statement, KRON4 reports. "I have suffered and had to deal with the reputation of being 'the girl that got raped.' I will live my high school years with this cloud over me."
O'Connor Allegedly Told Kids to Lie to Their Parents
Teens who allegedly attended the booze-filled parties said in their victim impact statements that the mom would manipulate them and tell them to lie. "I was manipulated to lie to my parents. These events still traumatize me," wrote a minor the court identified as John Doe #1.
"Shannon had a huge negative effect. She shaped me into being a kid who lies," wrote John Doe #2. Jane Doe #6 said O'Connor "would tell us to lie to our parents, so she wouldn't get caught. She continued to manipulate teens."
One Alleged Victim Had Restraining Order Against O'Connor
Another alleged victim explained how terrified of O'Connor she was. "Jane Doe 9" talked about one traumatizing night when she realized she was being followed by a car with no headlights on. The girl had already obtained a restraining order against O'Connor, she said. But when she looked over at the car, she saw O'Connor and her son "screaming and calling me nasty names." "Jane Doe 9" said she ran and hid in a thorny bush to escape."
O'Connor Allegedly Stalked Teens
O'Connor left the affluent area of Los Gatos, Calif, and moved to Idaho, but continued to harass teens, according to an alleged victim. "Shannon moved to my town in Idaho. I got 27 calls with no caller ID's. It was Shannon breathing into the phone, haunting me. I can't even describe how terrified I was, I thought I was going to get killed," Jane Doe 8 said.
Jane Doe 8's mother told the judge that the mom kept stalking Jane Doe 8 through TikTok, Instagram, and at her workplace, Jane Doe 8's mother told the judge. The mother said, "She is the rapist of my child's innocence. For months, I asked and asked for Shannon to stop. Stop contacting my children, my daughter will never be allowed to have a relationship with your son."
O'Connor "bought vodka and Fireball whiskey, provided condoms and discouraged the teens from telling their parents about the parties or calling for help when one of them passed out in their own vomit, the statement of facts state," District Attorney Jeff Rosen said in a previous news release.
The Parties Continued in Idaho
In 2021, O'Connor moved to Idaho, where the parties continued, according to one alleged victim's mom. Jane Doe 4's mother told the judge, "Shannon continued these parties in Idaho. She's a very sick individual and a sexual predator. She taught our daughter how to drink like a rock star. She was only 14, had never had alcohol and never had a boyfriend. It's disgusting to me."
KRON4 reports, "Police said when they arrested O'Connor in October 2021, officers found her in her new Idaho home with 12 underage teenagers who had slept over the night before. "Party Mom" was well aware that she was under investigation, but she continued throwing parties for teens away, according to police and prosecutors."
O'Connor Encouraged Sexual Abuse, According to DA
In the press release, Rosen stated, "At one party at her home, O'Connor handed a underaged teenager a condom and pushed him into a room with an intoxicated minor. During a New Year's Eve party at her home with about five 14-year-olds, the defendant watched and laughed as a drunk teen sexually battered a young girl in bed. In another case, the defendant brought one drunk teen into a bedroom at her home where an intoxicated 14-year-old girl was lying in the bed. After she was assaulted, the girl said to the defendant: 'Why did you leave me in there with him? Like why did you like do that? Like you knew like what he was going to do me."

O'Connor Was Attacked in Jail
While awaiting trial, O'Connor has been locked up at the Elmwood Correctional Facility, where five inmates recently attacked her. Law&Crime reports, "The assault was carried out using hands and feet, and the level of force used was likely to produce great bodily injury," a sheriff's deputy wrote in an affidavit. "No other weapons were used." She did not provoke or strike her attackers, the deputy added, according to the outlet.
