King Charles to Meet With William and Kate to "Secure the Future" of the Monarchy
Charles is making plans for the future.
It has been almost a year since King Charles stepped up to the throne after the death of his mother, Elizabeth – and it has been a busy one. Aside from all the planning and preparations for his Coronation ceremony, the 74-year-old has been dealing with all the problems he inherited from his mother, including the issue of his brother, Prince Andrew, and the ongoing troubles with his son, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to a new source, King Charles is now focusing on the future of the monarchy and will soon meet with Prince William and Princess Kate to discuss it.
The Mirror reports that King Charles will be hosting a summit to map out the future of the Royal Family. It will happen in the next few weeks.
During the Royal pow wow, Charles will hash out specific roles for his son and heir-to-the-throne Prince William, his wife, Princess Kate, and Queen Camilla.
"His Majesty is very clear. The Commonwealth must be at the very heart of his reign," a source told the publication.
"He sees it as his utmost duty to fulfill the sincere wish of his late mother [Queen Elizabeth], that one of his central roles must be to ensure not only the survival but the robustness [of the organization]," a source claims.
Reportedly, there will be a lot of pressure on William and Kate, with the source claiming that the couple's "star quality" will be essential to hold the Commonwealth together.
King Charles is arriving at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Monday. It hasn't been revealed what date the summit will take place.
A source also told OK! Magazine that the King has been rearranging his schedule to meet with Harry. "The king has a rescheduled official visit to France on Sept. 20, so [he] has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son."
The arrangements are currently in the works by his team. "Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak," the source adds.
However, according to sources close to Harry and Meghan, there is no "peace talk" in the works. They denied the claims to The New York Post.
The source who spoke to OK revealed that King Charles is particularly upset about the claims made against Camilla. "If the talks take place, the king will make it very clear that there will be absolutely no private family business discussed in public moving forward," OK!'s source said.
