What "Family Guy" Said About Meghan and Harry That Has Everyone Talking
The animated comedy roasted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex
The Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane's animated comedy, is famous for roasting celebrities. Everyone from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to Donald Trump has suffered jokes at the expense of the hit Fox show that has been airing for 23 seasons. This week, the show took aim at a new pair of celebs – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – and people can't stop talking about the major diss.
On Sunday evening's episode the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were majorly poked fun at.
The scene starts when the protagonist, Peter Griffin, is sitting at the bar, comparing himself to Harry and Meghan.
He is worried that he isn't going to be able to get money back that he is owed. So he decides he should take on the world like the controversial couple did when they stepped down as working members of the royal family.
Cartoon versions of the couple lounge by a pool, looking like they don't have a care in the world.
"I'll go it alone, just like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry," Griffin declares.
The couple are approached at the swimming pool by a snooty butler who hands them a check. "Sir, your millions from Netflix for… no-one knows what," he says.
"Put it with the rest of them," Harry responds.
Meghan looks at her vibrating phone. "Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco," she says.
"I shouldn't have left the made-up nonsense," a miserable looking Harry mutters under his breath.
This isn't the first animated diss at the couple. South Park previously dissed them, calling them the "Prince and Princess of Canada" and saying that they were going on a "worldwide privacy tour." They also joked that Prince Harry's memoir was called "Waaagh."
"It seriously is driving me crazy. I'm sick of hearing about them but I can't get away from them. They're everywhere," Kyle says in another scene. "Look Kyle, we kind of just don't care about some dumb prince and his stupid wife," Stan responds.
