Prince Harry May "Turn His Back" han and Showbiz
Sources claim Harry is shifting away from life in the spotlight
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have demonstrated a united front ever since they started dating. In many interviews, they have claimed that they do almost everything together, including work in the same home office. In fact, Meghan even once likened themselves to "salt and pepper — we always move together." However, over the past year, the couple has seemed to branch out on their own a little more. For example, Meghan recently signed a management deal with Ari Emanuel at WME and Harry did the promotional circuit for his book, Spare, solo. Now, there is a new report that the couple will continue to go their separate ways – and Harry may even "turn his back" on Meghan.
Alison Boshoff, Chief Showbusiness Writer and Friday columnist for the Daily Mail, claims that while Meghan is gravitating toward a career back in showbiz, Harry seems to be pulled in another direction of charity work. "Their ambition to become a global humanitarian power couple seems, for the moment at least, to be on ice," she writes.
The editor reveals that according to a source, Meghan will likely be publishing a book, "most likely with a feminist angle." She will also work on a "string of commercial endorsements in fields meaningful to her, such as food, wellness, fashion and therapy."
As for the negativity surrounding the couple, she claims sources say they feel "repeatedly unlucky" and that "bad timing" has been responsible for their failures. "The word is that they think they've been really unlucky," a source told the editor.
She also reveals that Meghan has consulted a "psychic to the stars," Mama Fay, in the past, "and was told that she was going to meet a man who was 'like a king' — and going to be globally famous, to boot."
"But, luck aside, the big question is how long before Harry turns his back on the showbusiness life, for which he is obviously ill-suited and seems entirely uncomfortable with?" the editor asks, adding that "Harry was completely ineffective" in the "sphere" of interviews.
"In truth, Harry never really wanted to be a podcaster or a TV executive. He didn't want to be the 'pepper' to Meghan's 'salt'," she points out. Instead, he would rather focus on his charity work. "For me, personally, I get so much out of helping other people," he said at a conference earlier this year.
She also cites reports that the couple is spending more and more time apart. "They may still be very much married, but Harry seems happiest at the edge of the spotlight — a few paces behind his wife," she says.
