Man Murders Girlfriend Over Affair, Sends Graphic Photos to Her Lover, Then Drives Her Body to Police Station, Records Show

Pedro Grajalez confessed to murdering his girlfriend, Nilda Rivera, after a reported affair.

According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over half of female homicide victims were killed in connection to intimate partner violence, with the majority carried out by a male partner. A Connecticut woman sadly became one of these statistics on Sunday, per multiple media reports, after the man she had been dating for less than a year stabbed her to death after accusing her of cheating on him with another man. 

Pedro Grajalez Drove His Girlfriend's Dead Body to the Police Station

According to Connecticut Insider, Pedro Grajalez, 52, pulled up to the Harford Police Department on Sunday. He walked in and showed officers on duty photos of his bloody girlfriend, Nilda Rivera, 57, telling them he killed her because she was having an affair. He then led them to her body, which was in his car outside of the station. 

He Walked in and Told Them "He Had Just Stabbed" Her

He said "he had just stabbed his girlfriend, and that she was in a vehicle parked in front of the police department," police Lt. Aaron Boisvert said in a statement. When officers went out to the car, they discovered the victim unresponsive and suffering from "multiple injuries."

She Was Stabbed Over 25 Times

She was rushed to Saint Francis Hospital and was pronounced dead. The autopsy determined she had been stabbed over 25 times all over her body, chest, head, face, and arms included. The murder reportedly happened inside the car in a parking lot. 

Police Also Found the Knife

Police found the body in the front seat of the car and the knife used in the stabbing inside of the center console. Per NBC Connecticut, who obtained a copy of the arrest warrant, the two had been dating since July 2022 and Grajalez had been planning to kill her for several days.

He told investigators that he hid the knife in his pocket, drove Rivera to McDonald's to eat, and then drove to another parking lot and stabbed her. He then waited for her to die and then drove her body to the police department. 

He Also Sent Photos of Her Dead Body to Her "New Boyfriend"

According to the warrant, he also sent a picture of his girlfriend with stab wounds to her "new boyfriend." the warrant says. He also told them the man had made threats to his mother and accused the victim of giving the man his mother's address. 

His Bonds Is Set at $3 Million

He was arrested and awaits his next court date on May 15. His bond was initially set at $1.5 million but then raised to $3 million.
