The Real Reason Why Prince Harry Asked His Old Friends and Girlfriends to Break Vow of Silence
Those close to the Duke were allegedly shocked when asked to spill the beans.
Like most members of the Royal Family, Prince Harry is notoriously private when it comes to his personal life. Because it is the family's policy to avoid commenting on personal matters, those in the Prince's inner circle must abide by a similar set of rules. Namely, they aren't allowed to discuss Harry at a public level, especially in the media. This has proved to be incredibly difficult for some people who have come into his life, especially those who he has dated, whose personal lives have been invaded by the press. However, recently those close to Prince Harry were asked to break their vow of silence – by none other than Harry himself.
According to a new report, Prince Harry has been contacting old friends and lovers with hopes that they will open up about their relationships with him. Why? He needs them to corroborate his stories in his soon-to-be-published tell-all memoir titled Spare.
The Sun on Sunday reports that the Duke of Sussex has been asking those in his circle to speak with the book's ghostwriter, JR Moehringer. And, the request has left them "stunned," especially because they were requested not to speak about his life for so long.
Some of Harry's friends and lovers were happy to speak about the Duke, according to The Telegraph. However, others weren't quite as keen about opening up. "Harry did reach out," a source told The Sun. "Friends and girlfriends were polite and said they would think about it but ultimately most said 'no.'"
It is not known which of Harry's friends and former flames, including girlfriends Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas, were asked to dish about their relationships with the Prince for the book.
The source continued to explain that it seemed a tad hypocritical for Harry to ask them to speak. "It was felt to be kind of ironic that Harry would hit the roof if he ever had an inkling they spoke to the media, but now he wants them to when he needs their help," they said.
