10 Things Victoria Beckham Has Said About Aging As She Nears 50

“I’m not obsessed with looking young,” the 49-year-old says in a new interview.

It's hard to believe that Victoria Beckham is 49-years-old. The Spice Girl turned fashion designer has been in the public eye since her 20s, aging in the public eye. In a new interview with The Telegraph, she discusses the upcoming milestone of turning 50 in April. "Honestly, I'm not obsessed with looking young," she said. This isn't the first time Beckham has brought up her feelings about getting older. Here are other things she has said.

"I consider how I apply my make-up. But I like how it feels being older. I wouldn't want to be 25 again. I was the kind of young woman who would look in the mirror and see what needed to be improved upon, as opposed to what actually looked OK," she added to The Sunday Times

While Beckham has admitted to getting some laser and skin-tightening treatments, she claims she isn't "trying to turn back the clock," she said in an interview. "I think it's about little things. Same with make-up, it's about not doing too much, which can be really aging. I went to an event recently and people had very [overfilled] faces. There are some scary options out there."

A few years back she dissed aging on the UK talk show This Morning. "I'm not trying to look any younger at all. I just wanna look good for my age. I wanna look like the best version of myself. I wanna look after what I have," she said. "I don't really want to change anything. And I'm okay with that."

One of the perks of aging? "I used to have quite bad skin when I was younger and I was constantly covering up spots and things like that. Luckily, I don't have to worry too much about that anymore. Over time, you learn what works for you," she told Into the Gloss.

She Smiles More Now

"When I was going through the imagery with the team, it wasn't about perfectly retouching things. I also hate seeing the words ' anti-aging' and 'anti-wrinkle' [on products] — what is that about? It should just be about having the best skin you can have," she continued. "I want to be honest. In the past, I've probably hidden behind my armor — the not smiling publicly, for instance," Beckham said. "There's less of that now."
