Disgraced Prince Andrew Wins Standoff with King Charles, Insiders Claim
Prince Andrew will remain at Royal Lodge, according to sources.
When King Charles took over the throne from his mother, Queen Elizabeth, in September 2022, he inherited all of the outstanding issues and situations that go along with it. One of the most pressing ones was what to do about his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew. While Elizabeth was in power, Andrew was stripped of his duties and forced to step down as a working member of the family. This means that he became a financial burden to his family. Over the past year, there has been a standoff between Andrew and his brother over one particular detail, and sources claim that he has won.
Andrew has been living at Royal Lodge for many years. However, over the past year, the question of where Andrew would live in the future has been on the table.
Reports claimed that King Charles was evicting him from his longtime residence and forcing him to move into Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
However, multiple sources noted that Prince Andrew had no desire to relocate and was perfectly happy at his current residence.
A new report claims that he has been given a "stay of execution," buying him time to continue repairing the old home and 98-acre Windsor property.
The sources say that Andrew has made a deal with Charles after a lot of back and forth and that he will be allowed to live in the home "indefinitely."
According to the report, Andrew has invested a whopping £200,000 for roof repairs of the 30-room home over the summer. He is considering it to be an "interim payment" following an August meeting with his brother at Balmoral.
"Andrew's stance has paid off. He has refused all attempts by the King to leave his home … and the King has relented and granted a stay of execution," a source tells The Mirror's Russel Myers.
"[Andrew] is in agreement that the property needs repairs, for which he has already paid more than £200,000 recently to sort out the roof and has said he will make the further necessary renovations," they added.
"Royal sources have confirmed the King and Andrew met privately at Balmoral at the end of August, during a royal family gathering, where the issues were discussed."

"It seems the king just wants to move on for the time being which might be a good idea for everyone," the source added.
