Disgraced Prince Andrew's Reportedly Refuses to Move Out of Home
Prince Andrew is refusing to move out of Royal Lodge, according to reports.
Upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth, King Charles inherited the throne – in addition to all of the royal problems. Undoubtedly, one of the biggest was the issue of his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew. No longer a working member of the Royal Family after being forced to step down from duties as a result of sexual assault allegations, Jeffrey Epstein's former friend was no longer able to be supported by the United Kingdom, making his welfare the personal responsibility of his family. King Charles didn't waste much time before making a major decision to boot his younger brother out of his longtime home, Royal Lodge, providing him with alternative housing: Frogmore Cottage. But according to sources, Andrew is refusing to move. Read on to find out what's going on.
According to new reports, Prince Andrew refuses to leave his seven-bedroom Windsor home, Royal Lodge, even though it needs some major renovations. And while many reports claimed that Charles "evicted" him from the home, they maintain that he doesn't actually have the power to do so.
According to the reports, Royal Lodge is owned by the Crown Estate, which makes money for the government. In 2003 Andrew signed a 75-year lease on the home.
The reports claim that King Charles is concerned that because Andrew has limited funds, he cannot afford the maintenance fees on the luxury property, which reportedly boasts 30 rooms and needs £1 million to paint the exterior alone. Since moving in, he has spent millions on renovations alone.

"It's become farcical. Andrew has roof repairs scheduled later this summer, which will take several months to complete and has been advised that staying in the house during those renovations could prove problematic," a source told The Daily Mail's Rebecca English. "But he is reluctant to leave," they say, noting that he is afraid he won't be allowed back in.
As for Frogmore Cottage, the previous home of Harry and Meghan, according to reports, Harry stayed at the residence while in town for his court appearance. But there is no prospect of him and his wife retaining the home.
"He is so fragile. He's refusing to see anybody. This has been his family home for the past 20 years. Is it really sensible to kick him out?" Andrew's friend told Mail on Sunday earlier this year. "He's concerned that now the Coronation is over, the knives are out. He's worried that the royals might even turn off the utilities to get him out of there. But we're dealing with human beings, not real estate."
