"SNL" Star Enters Rehab: Latest on Pete Davidson

The actor is in treatment getting a mental health “tune up.”

Pete Davidson has been open about his mental health struggles. The Saturday Night Live alum, who has kept unusually quiet on social media since his last post on June 10th, checked into a rehab facility in Pennsylvania, the same place his friend John Mulaney sought help for alcohol and drugs a few years ago, according to multiple sources. Here is everything we know about the actor's latest mental health update.

He Is In Rehab for a "Tune Up"

According to friends of Davidson, he recently checked into a facility and does so regularly. "Pete regularly goes to rehab for 'tune ups' and to take a mental break, so that's what's happening," a close friend of his told Page Six

He Works On Himself "When There Is Down Time"

One of his friends claims that he is proactive about getting in-patient therapy to address issues related to his post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder, noting that his loved ones are supportive. "Anyone who knows Pete knows that he will always step up and get help when he knows he needs it," the friend told the publication. "He has a lot of people in his corner who love him and support him, and are proud of him." Another added: "He is good. Pete is a big believer in mental health and therapy. When there is down time in his schedule, he works on himself."

He Will Be "Getting Out Pretty Soon"

While it is unknown exactly when he checked in to the facility, another source confirmed to People that he's "in rehab but should be getting out pretty soon."

His Friends and Family Are Being "Supportive"

"Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues," another source close to the star told People. "His friends and family have been supportive during this time." The publication reached out to his reps, but hasn't heard back.

Davidson Has Been Open About His Mental Health for Years

In 2018, Davidson revealed that he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after years of battling depression and anxiety. He revealed that he checked into a rehab program in December 2016 to treat the condition. Page Six also reports that his girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, and her family are supporting him during the difficult time and standing by him.

Earlier This Month He Was Charged with Reckless Driving

Earlier this month Davidson was charged with one count of reckless driving after smashing his car into a Beverly Hills home, while Wonders was riding with him.
