Most Educated and Uneducated States in America

Check how your state ranks.

How smart are you in comparison to your neighbors? Now there's scientific evidence; it depends on where you grew up. The personal finance website WalletHub recently enlisted experts to rate all 50 states according to 18 education metrics in two major categories. The educational attainment category measured how many state residents earned high school diplomas and degrees of higher education, while the educational quality category looked at the quality of state schools and universities, student test scores, and achievement gaps between genders and races, among other factors. Each state was assigned a score from 1 to 100, with 100 being the most educated. Here's how all 50 states ranked, from worst to best.
